Masks

I grew up in West Africa as a child. I’m not African. We were the Americans there. Foreigners in our ancestral home. I took a DNA test recently. The results indicated that my origins trace back to countries I have lived in. But I wasn’t from there when I lived in Africa. I was the American growing up abroad. Still now that I know that the countries are in my blood, they are not the full truth I see or speak.
